Dream Houses

I promised myself my next post would be more personal - with more real life photos. Not stock/screencaps or vintage. Oh dear, I couldn't resist! ;) I had to share this site Hookedon Houses.net.

Happy to find screen caps of my most favorite movie house. Iris Simpkins's house form The Holiday! Of course Amanda Woods's house is sooo amazing too. But Iris's . . . so gorgeous.

Goodness . . . imagine how this must look in the spring! *swoons*

The door is so cute!

Dreamy!

The color scheme is just so cozy!

The black and white photos with string lights . . .match made in heaven.

Love the midget stove!! And the dishes! And . . . and . . .

The perfect library.

Really like all of the burgundy with blues.

. . . and the midget bathtub.

Oo! And of course the canopy at Graham's house!

My other personal favorites:

Reese Witherspoon's House
&
Grey Gardens

What are yours?

Questions { Part 3 }

Yes, it has taken me forever to get to these last questions. ;) Simply because . . . well . . . I.love.color.

Hannah asked: "Hmmm.. What's your favorite color?"

Then Emily said: "I like Hannah's question of "What's your favorite color?"

To help you out on this question, ;) how about you share how you implement your favorite color(s) in your daily life (photos, home decor, dishes, homey things, etc.)."

( Favorite photos from around Flickr )

My very, very, favorite colors . . . . Hmm . . . I can't pick just one . . . are chocolate, lavender, green, pink, teal and red.
As far as photos go, black and white rules my world. Nothing like a black and white photo.
I like mix and match dishes. Like the teacups in the last photo on my collage . . . love that.
I have a weakness for polka dots. Particularly red and white polka dots.
I also obviously like small flowery prints.
Brown is beautiful! My bedroom walls are actually brown. I love old tea stained paper and how rustic cardboard is.
I love to be surprised with red.
Pink is my favorite color to wear.
But my favorite color combination is lavender and green.

Happy Birthday Dear Bloggy . . .
Happy Birthday To You!

I am so, so happily shocked that I have blogged for a whole year. I have always been very bad about keeping journals . . . and suspected it would be the same with blogging. I would love the first six months. The new adventure, the naming and designing . . . but was sure it would become rather boring. Not. I love blogging! I'm not the most dedicated blogger . . . especially since school started. I never blog if I start to pressure myself into thinking "I haven't blogged in a week . . I have to blog". No no. Blogging is supposed to be happy and relaxful ~ sharing your happy moments, discoveries, thoughts and feelings.

!! Hugs !! To all of my readers! Thank you for making this so fun. I have met so many amazing people through blogging . . . and looking forward to meeting more amazing people. Ya'll are awesome!

Scott & Rachel

Yesterday . . .

My oldest sissy, Rachel got married . . .

It was so, so, SO beautiful. Very simple, very small . . . to the point.
Aside from the loverly bride and groom, it was only their parents, siblings, nieces & nephews.

The entire family loves and highly approves of our new family member! There couldn't be someone more perfect for our RayRay . . .

It makes us happy to see Rachel so happy . . .

It was an honor to witness their Happily Ever After . . .

Sara Turns 21

My sissy Sara, turned 21 yesterday. Yay! *confetti* She spent most of the day on a top secret field trip with the Master Gardeners. A once in a lifetime top secret field trip - how lovely that it should land our her birthday.

Decorated and cooked while she was away . See Bebe, < I love how she sneaks in random photos. So when Sarie got home from her top secret field trip - we ate Lasagna, drank yummy sodas, unwrapped presents and received kisses from all three doggies . . . because they are just the bestest partiers evVa. Then we all collapsed on the sofa and started watching Little Dorrit and ate left over Cheese Danishes. Oo! Speaking of Cheese Danishes . . . I am in love with them. I've been wanting to make some for a long time. And braved it for Sara's birthday breakfast. YUMMY! I want to play with different flavors now.

Cheese Danish Recipe
From Ina Garten @ Foodnetwork

Ingredients
* 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
* 1/3 cup sugar
* 2 extra-large egg yolks, at room temperature
* 2 tablespoons ricotta cheese
* 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
* 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
* 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest (2 lemons)
* 2 sheets (1 box) frozen puff pastry, defrosted
* 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash

Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Place the cream cheese and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and cream them together on low speed until smooth. With the mixer still on low, add the egg yolks, ricotta, vanilla, salt, and lemon zest and mix until just combined. Don't whip!

Unfold 1 sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured board and roll it slightly with a floured rolling pin until it's a 10 by 10-inch square. Cut the sheet into quarters with a sharp knife. Place a heaping tablespoon of cheese filling into the middle of each of the 4 squares. Brush the border of each pastry with egg wash and fold 2 opposite corners to the center, brushing and overlapping the corners of each pastry so they firmly stick together. Brush the top of the pastries with egg wash. Place the pastries on the prepared sheet pan. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and refrigerate the filled Danish for 15 minutes.

Bake the pastries for about 20 minutes, rotating the pan once during baking, until puffed and brown. Serve warm. ( And prepare to swooon )
